The 1776 Fund
_______________________________________________

Crying Baby Productions established the 1776 Fund with the Portland Foundation following its production of the musical “1776” (click here for more information about this production).  Inspired by the heroic actions of emergency response teams during the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Centers in New York, Crying Baby Production donated all of the proceeds from the performance of “1776” to create the fund.  According to the fund agreement, the 1776 Fund is a field of interest fund whose purpose is "to provide support to the emergency service agencies that positively impact Jay County, Indiana subject to the rules regulating 501 (c) (3) organizations of the IRS Code."  All emergency service agencies that directly benefit Jay County, Indiana will be eligible to apply for distributions from the endowment fund. For more information about the 1776 Fund contact the Portland Foundation at 260-726-4260, or visit their website at www.portlandfoundation.org.
