Ron Freeman (Tevye) – Ron has
been active in area community theater having recently played the role of the King in Jay County Civic Theater’s production
of The King and I. Ron has also performed
with the Performance Company, Marion Civic Theater, and numerous Crying Baby Productions including 1776, Christmas at the Junction, and Merry Christmas, George Bailey. Playing the role of Tevye has been a dream of Ron’s since he appeared as a chorus
member of Fiddler on the Roof in high school.
Ron is proud to be joined in this performance by his wife Loni (Grandma Tzeitel), and his daughters Samantha (a villager)
and Amelia (Bielke). In addition to his cast role, he is also serving as the
show’s producer. Ron resides in rural Portland,
and is President of Jay Petroleum.
Vickie Fuller-Kibellus (Golde) –
Vickie is a veteran of stage and theater having performed professionally for many years at Bearcreek Farms in Bryant, Indiana. Some
of Vickie’s favorite roles include Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Bloody Mary in South Pacific, Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, and Louisa in The Fantasticks. As a founding partner with Linda Priest Rodden (Yente) of Crying Baby Productions, Vickie has appeared
in HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, and Merry Christmas,
George Bailey. A resident of Markle, Vickie is a fulltime mother of
six children. She offers special thanks to her oldest son Tommy and her husband
Carlton for many nights of babysitting so she can pursue her
creative passions.
Linda Priest Rodden (Yente) – Linda
is serving a dual role in this performance as the show’s director and as a cast member.
However, as Crying Baby Production’s founding partner with Vickie Fuller-Kibellus (Golde), Linda has directed
and performed in nearly all of their productions including Christmas at the Junction,
1776, HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, and Merry Christmas, George Bailey. Some of Linda’s favorite roles include Lucy in You’re
A Good Man Charlie Brown, Marian in the Music Man, and Maria in The Sound of Music. Linda has also performed and directed shows at
Bearcreek Farms in Bryant, Indiana. When she is not performing, Linda is a music teacher and mother of four children who
she home schools. Linda thanks her husband and family for supporting her passion. She also thanks her mother for many hours of babysitting.
Amie Billington (Tzeitel) – Although
Amie is a more recent addition to local theater, she has been very busy as both a performer and director. Her credits with Crying Baby Productions include Pirates of Penzance
and The Odd Couple. She has also appeared in Jay County Civic Theater’s productions of The King and I, Annie, Much Ado About Nothing,
and Belles. Most recently Amie directed
the Performance Company’s summer production of Godspell. Amie thanks Linda Rodden for asking her to join the cast of Fiddler
on the Roof. She is a V.I. Assistant at Jay County High School,
and resident of Bryant.
David Crump (Motel) – A resident
of Anderson, and the Technical Director of Reardon Auditorium at Anderson
University, David is another theater veteran. His many credits include The Boy in The Fantasticks, Eddie Ryan
in Funny Girl, Mendel in Fiddler on the
Roof, and Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol.
He has also performed in Hello Dolly, The
Music Man, South Pacific, and Little Mary
Sunshine. David’s Crying Baby Productions roles include Melvin the
Pirate in Pirates of Penzance, and Felix Ungar in The Odd Couple.
Seth
Rodden (Perchik) – At age 16, Seth is already a seasoned performer. He broke into musical theater at age 8 as a cast member of The Music Man, and has been a regular on stage ever since. His Crying
Baby Productions appearances include, 1776, HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance,
and The Odd Couple. One of Seth’s
favorite roles was as Lun Tha in The King and I.
Seth is the son of Linda Priest Rodden (Yente & Director) and wishes to thank his parents for encouraging him to
pursue musical theater.
Laura
Vogler (Hodel) – Laura is a sophomore at Jay County High School,
and another veteran of the stage. Laura has already appeared in numerous high
school productions including a lead role as Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain. She also played the lead as Annie in the Jay County Civic’s production of Annie. Her Crying Baby credits include
Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore. Laura would like to thank God for the talents he has blessed her with and friends
and family for all their love and support.
Lauren
Haggenjos (Chava) – This is Lauren’s third appearance in a Crying
Baby Productions role, which includes Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore. A freshman at Jay
County High School, Lauren also
appeared as Pepper in Jay County Civic’s production of Annie. She thanks all those who have helped her grow as a performer, especially her mom.
Pete
Vogler (Lazar Wolf) – After directing the pit orchestra for many local productions,
Pete decided to try his hand on stage. He’s been hooked ever since! His Crying Baby Production roles include Dick Deadeye in HMS Pinafore and Pirates of Penzance, and Col. Thomas McKean in 1776. Pete has also directed the pit
orchestra for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The King and I, and The Secret
Garden. A music teacher
and band director by profession, Pete’s special request is that he not be required to have a beard for any future productions.
Greg
Ashley (Mordcha) – A veteran performer and director, Greg’s stage
credits are almost too numerous to mention. Favorite roles include Grandpa in
You Can’t Take It With You, Alan in Baby,
and Reuben/Pharaoh in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. His Crying Baby credits include Ben Franklin in 1776, Sir Joseph
in HMS Pinafore, Major General in Pirates
of Penzance, and George Bailey in Merry Christmas, George Bailey. Greg’s first musical performance was Fiddler on the Roof
in 1982.
Dolphus Stephens (Rabbi) – Although he grew up in
Muncie, Dolphus has been a local resident and teacher at Jay County High School
for the past 22 years. During that time he has been seen in many shows of which
his favorites are A Christmas Carol, Greater Tuna, and Raisin in the Sun. He has appeared twice in Crying Baby Productions performance of Merry Christmas, George Bailey. Dolphus is joined in this show
by his wife Nora (Shaindel) and his son Nicholas who is playing trumpet in the pit orchestra.
Todd
McCowan (Mendel) – This is Todd’s first appearance in a Crying Baby
Production, but not his first on stage. He recently appeared as Lamar in the
Performance Company’s production of Godspell.
Todd is a junior at Jay County
High School, and wishes to thank God and his friends for love and support.
Greg
Rittenhouse (Avram) – Greg is the pastor of Asbury
United Methodist Church
in Portland, and is appearing in his first Crying Baby Production. Previous favorite roles include Perchik in Fiddler
on the Roof, and a coconut sailor in South Pacific. Greg has also created an assortment of one act characters including “Kirk,” a clown minister,
and “Grandma Hubbard.” Greg is joined in this show by his wife Jan,
who is play the keyboard in the pit orchestra.
Rick
VanSkyock (Nachum) – Another veteran of the theater, Rick has performed,
directed, and choreographed many shows with Jay County Civic Theater, Performance Company, and Crying Baby Productions. Favorites include Baker in Into the Woods,
Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, and Will Parker in Oklahoma.
Rick’s Crying Baby credits include 1776, HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, and The Odd Couple. Rick will be performing the role of Cogsworth in Muncie Civic Theater’s production of Beauty and
the Beast during Christmas 2005.
Kent McClung (Constable)
– Kent is pleased to be rejoining
Crying Baby for another show. Previous roles with CBP include Stephen Hopkins
in 1776, and Mr. Potter in Merry Christmas,
George Bailey. A Portland resident (and Mr.
Dad), Kent would like to thank his wife
and kids for allowing him the time to perform.
Tristan
Rodden (Fyedka) – A homeschooled student from rural Bryant, this is Tristan’s
fourth Crying Baby appearance. He has also had roles in 1776, HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, and
Merry Christmas, George Bailey. Tristan is the son of Linda Priest Rodden (Yente & Director), and comments that he
has had so much fun watching this show come together.
Donna
Haggenjos (Fruma-Sarah) – Donna is a mother of three children, all of whom
are in this show; Lauren (Chava), Liza (Shprintze), and Lee (Bottle Dancer). A
rural Portland resident, she is a full-time homemaker and
part-time medical secretary. When time allows, Donna enjoys participating in
musical theater, and has performed with the Jay County Civic Theater in the productions of
Here’s To U.S. and The King and I. She thanks her husband and children for supporting
her.
Loni
Freeman (Grandma Tzeitel) – Loni most recently appeared as Lady Thiang in
Jay County Civic’s 2004 production of The King and I. She also appeared with the Performance Company as Baroness Elsa Schraeder in The Sound of Music, and made two appearances at Bearcreek Farms during the 1997-98 season. This is her second
appearance in a Crying Baby Production, having also played the role of Martha Jefferson in 1776. Loni is joined in this show by her husband Ron (Tevye), and
daughters Samantha (a villager), and Amelia (Bielke). A rural Portland resident, she is a homemaker and mother of four.
Liza
Haggenjos (Shprintze) – Liza, a fifth grader in Portland, is making her second Crying Baby appearance.
She made her stage debut in 2004 as a cast member in Jay County Civic’s production of The King and I, and then joined Crying Baby Productions for their fall performance of Pirates of Penzance. She thanks her mom for all the rides to rehearsals.
Amelia
Freeman (Bielke) – Amelia made her stage debut as a cast member of Jay County
Civic Theater’s 2004 production of The King and I. This is Amelia’s second role with Crying Baby Productions, having also appeared in Pirates of Penzance. Amelia is a homeschooled third grader, and thanks
her parents for her start in musical theater.
Nora Stephens (Shaindel) – Although she has not recently participated
in local theater, Nora is no stranger to the stage. As an active participant
with the Muncie Civic Theater for over ten years, Nora appeared in Camelot, The Sound
of Music, Lil’ Abner, Plaza Suite, Oliver, and many others. In fact,
Nora met her husband (Dolphus – Rabbi) during a Muncie Civic production. She
has also appeared with Jay County Civic in Plaza Suite and Steel Magnolias. She is a Kindergarten teacher and mother.
Heather Steed (Scenic Artist & Set Design) – If you have attended
any local productions in the past several years, you have seen Heather’s artistry and imagination. Heather has designed and created all of the sets for Crying Baby Productions including 1776, HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, The Odd Couple, and Merry Christmas, George Bailey. Her work can also be seen in the
productions of Jay County Civic Theater and the Performance Company. A Redkey
resident, Heather would like to thank God who inspires her and her family and friends who encourage and support her.
